Sullivan's Story

Sullivans stone factory began in December of 2003 in a small shop that had been the home of "Cortima" marble and granite since 1974. Bob Sullivan founder of "Sullivans Shutters" was looking for a new field to invest himself in and chose to start his own marble and granite company in their wake. With the help and expertise of experienced staff already on hand the company was off to a fresh start. Within the first year Sullivan's was already positioning itself to handle the demands of large projects like Toscana in Indian Wells, California. "We immediately recognized the need to streamline the process of templating, cutting, and installing slab countertops." To do this Sullivan enlisted the help of Prussiani engineering and CMS Brembana to automate the process. " With our system we have the capability to receive cutting information from across town or across the globe, send it directly to our saws and know beyond the shadow of a doubt it will be accurate to 5000's of an inch of what was measured."
 

Sullivan's reputation of being a cutting edge fabricator grew quickly and before long the company expanded to a six acre site in Indio, California. "In our new facility we added a state of the art water recycling system, Two 3 Ton overhead cranes, a Flow waterjet, Two Commandulli straight line edge polishing machines a Marmol backsplash polisher, a second computer numerical control bridge saw and a Terzago Marble polishing machine." With the aid of this automation Sulllivan's successfully completed the Grand Del Mar Golf Club house in 2006 and The Five Star award winning Grand Del Mar Hotel in 2008. "We are very proud of our work at the Grand Del Mar properties, they have been a spring board for some of the projects we are currently involved in today and give people a rare opportunity to experience a truly brilliant design." Looking into the future the company continues its pursuit of securing new and exciting products for its clients. " We spend a great deal of time and effort importing custom stone fireplaces, arhitectural stonework for doorways and windows and a wide variety of slab material to help keep us relevant and on the cutting edge as far as new product offerings."
